The “Holy Land” is the name used commonly to refer to the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. It has also been known as Palestine and associated with the ancient kingdoms of Judah and Israel.

The land is rich with religious significance and history for Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Within the borders of this otherwise relatively small section of land are a number of Holy sites and cities which remain a pilgrimage destination for millions each year. Jerusalem tops the list as the most Holy City but there are literally dozens of city mints scattered throughout the Holy Land whose coins are actively collected. This is not an exhaustive list, but illustrates a number of coins from some of the more common Holy Land city mints.
